How United can sustain their title charge.

                                        Manchester United’s Title Charge.

Before we begin, as a United fan quite frankly I never thought that this was the season I could’ve written about a title charge; but here we are fellas, sitting in 1st place. Surreal.

But in order to continue feeling this winning feeling there’s a few things that United can do to further solidify their dominance at the top and continue in their fine form.

Find Donny Van de Beek’s best position.

While it cannot be denied that Donny’s chances has been few and far between, Ole should make it a priority to employ the midfield general efficiently so that Bruno and Pogba  can enjoy some rest in the midst of the clustered schedule. While Donny has been used mainly as a deep lying; defensive midfielder, many Ajax and Netherland followers will tell you that Donny is his best self in Central Mid. With that being said he has held his own and done the job required regardless of position asked to play. While he has put in some performances that has justified some more starts, it is the responsibility of the manager to use him to his full potential.

Utilize Edison Cavani

Edison Cavani. Do I really have to explain? Arguably one of this generation’s greatest strikers, Cavani’s lethal finishing is something Manchester United is sorely missing. He turns nothing into something and in situations where clear chances doesn’t always come; a player his caliber and quality is needed. Additionally, his off ball movement is criminally underrated. His ability to make runs into spaces that the average footballer may miss is something special. In Sunday’s FA tie against Liverpool in the 87th minute he was seen directing Bruno on where to pass to create a chance which he headed straight into the bar. While words wouldn’t do it justice; that simple but effective run into the box paired with pinpoint passes from the mids can create a problem for defenders of opposing sides and it’s a trait of Cavani that Ole should definitely look to exploit.

Defense wins matches?

After having such a shaky start to the season defensively, United’s back 4 have finally started to look like a solid unit. The important part of this defense is that Eric Bailly; United’s best CB has finally started having some run of games without injury. Additionally, the LB position is finally one where personnel for both have been performing at immensely high levels with both Luke Shaw and Alex Telles being competent both offensively and defensively. While Wan-Bissaka is one of the best RBs globally defensively; his lack of offensive prowess is further exacerbated due to the quality the LBs provide going forward. A good move maybe to introduce some competition to not only challenge, but to push AWB to new heights in his game.
