UEFA Champions League Prediction 20/21 Season

UEFA Champions League Prediction 20/21 Season

As we get ready to kick off yet another Champions League campaign, it is time make some predictions for what is to come this season in the Champion’s League.

GROUP STAGE

Beginning with the group stage first. As we know there are eight groups with four teams and after six games, the top two teams advance with the third placed team going into the Europa League and the bottom placed team gets eliminated.

So, let’s get right into it starting at the top with Group A. Headlining this group is the reigning and defending champions Bayern Munich and Atletico Madrid with RB Salzburg and Lokomotiv Moscow rounding out the group. After the group games, Bayern Munich should easily storm to the first-place finish with Atletico finishing second with RB Salzburg third and Lokomotiv Moscow finishing last.

Group B is a rather interesting one and has ‘group of death’ potential with two heavy hitters in Real Madrid and Inter Milan and two good teams in Borussia Monchengladbach and Shaktar Donesk. In the end, the two talented teams will progress with Real Madrid locking up top spot with Inter Milan following behind them with Shaktar Donesk finishing in the Europa League spot and Borussia Monchengladbach in fourth place; don’t be surprised if there are one or two upsets in this group.

Group C contain Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City along with Marseille, Olympiacos and Porto rounding up the group. It should come as no surprise that Manchester City will easily see their way to top spot in this group with Marseille finishing in second. Porto will find themselves heading into the Europa League after finishing third and Olympiacos finishes in fourth.

Group D sees Ajax, Atalanta, Midtjylland and Liverpool. It should be an easy ride for Liverpool as they should easily get the top spot with Atalanta being able to progress out of the group with Liverpool. Ajax finishes third and Midtjylland finishing fourth rounding up the group.

Group E sees Sevilla, Chelsea, Rennes and Krasnodar. Chelsea and Sevilla will be tussling for the top spot in this group and Chelsea should win that battle with Sevilla coming second and Rennes will head down into the Europa League and Krasnodar will see their European football campaign come to an end.

Borussia Dortmund, Zenit, Lazio and Club Brugge are the four teams that make up Group F. Dortumnd is the clear favorite to emerge from this group with Lazio following behind them with Club Brugge finishing third and Zenit finishing last.

Group G sees two heavy titans of European football in Juventus and Barcelona, it should come as no surprise to anybody that these two will almost definitely see their way out of the group stage with Dyanmo Kyiv finishing third and Ferencvaros rounding up the group.

Almost every season, there is one group deemed the ‘group of death’ , for this season it’ll have to be group H. The four teams that make up this group include Manchester United, RB Leipzig, PSG and istanbul basaksehir. Starting with fourth place, istanbul basaksehir will obviously occupy fourth place, finishing third will be Manchester United with RB Leipzig finishing second and PSG finishing top spot.

DARK HORSE

Almost every season there is one club that will catch everybody by surprise and upset a few of the big teams, for this campaign the club that everybody should have on their radar is Atalanta. The club has been on the rise for the past two seasons playing an extremely attractive brand of attacking football , led by the brilliant Gian Piero Gasperini , he has taken the club and made them real competitors in Italy . In last season’s campaign; Atalanta’s first season in the Champions league, they were minutes away from upsetting PSG who ending up going to the finals.

Now that they have that vital experience under their belt after last season, expect them to be even stronger this campaign learning from their mistakes and expect them to upset a few big teams as they attempt to make some noise in this season’s Champions League.

BIGGEST UNDERPERFORMER

Now to look at the club that’ll be the biggest let down this season and that unfortunate title belongs to Manchester United as seen, they won’t even make it out of the group this season and that has to do with them having two very strong teams in their group in PSG and RB Leipzig, two teams that are far superior to Manchester United. They ( Manchester United ) would be aiming to at least make the Quarter or semi finals this season, however they should come back to reality and find themselves crashing out of the group stage and into the Europa League

CHAMPIONS

When it is all said and done after all the group stage games and knockout fixtures, there can only be one team left standing to raise the coveted Champions League trophy and that one team is Bayern Munich. After a flawless champions league campaign last season, Bayern Munich have just got stronger and there seems to be no stopping them as they will successfully defend their trophy and go back to back as champions.

Every other contender for the trophy this season seems to have one glaring flaw with them whether it be lacking personnel in certain positions, or injury prone players or even coaching issues. Bayern Munich has an excellent squad with capable backups in each position and a brilliant coach in Hansi Flick and with little to no challenge in the domestic league, Bayern can put a lot of focus on the Champions league and should successfully repeat champions.

TOP SCORERS

After the campaign comes to a close the player that finishes with the most goals this season would be, Juventus forward Cristiano Ronaldo  followed by PSG’s Brazilian wonder Neymar finishing second and Bayern’s Robert Lewandowski gets the final spot on the goal scorer podium
