Covid-19 may have placed local football on pause but this is not the case for  Trinidadians who have been plying their trade abroad via professional contract or scholarship. 

With regards to the foreign school football , most tournaments have been put on hold but players have been engaged in pre season training with hopes of returning to the field come January 2021. The majority of our local players who have attained scholarships abroad have been granted exemptions and have returned to their foreign based colleges to be part of the pre season training regime. 

        Drifting away from the college ball , many players have been actively blowing up the scenes for their respective clubs as international football tournaments have resumed across the world . Hot on the scene, Levi Garcia who recently signed to prominent Greek club Aek Athens  has stamped his name with the club scoring in his Greek Super League debut in the 14th minute against opponents Pas Lamia 1964 earlier this week . Garcia also featured with the team  later in the week when they faced Wolfsburg in their Europa League encounter and played an integral role in his team's 2-1 victory to advance to the Europa League’s group stages.Blazing the European scenes as well is Keston Julien who plays for Fc Sheriff in the  Moldovan league . Keston played a vital role in his team earlier this week by providing 2 assists to give the reigning champs another victory . 

Another local player who has been in the media off lately  is national team captain Khaleem Hyland who recently transferred to newly promoted club Al-Batin Fc in the Saudi Arabian league. 

           Moving to the americas where the majority of locals are based , several players have been making a tremendous contribution to their teams in their respective competitions. In the USL Neveal Hackshaw continued his stellar form by scoring for the Indy Eleven to provide the crucial equalizing goal against St Louis Fc. Cordell Cato also found his name on the scoresheet for his team Energy Fc when they faced Fc Tulsa earlier this week . With regards to the MLS , defender Noah Powder signed with club Real Salt Lake where he will be matching up with the renowned Trinidadian defender Alvin Jones who has been at the said club for almost a year to date . 

In the Canadian Premier League which recently concluded , Akeem Garcia may have another title to add to his Golden Boot aware  as he was shortlisted for the CPL’s Player of the Year award .

Garcia contributed 6 goals to his team's HFX Wanderer’s season capturing the attention of many which propelled him to being listed in the top three players of the season.
