CORNER FLAG TALK’S PL POWER RANKINGS-SEPTEMBER

CORNER FLAG TALK’S PL POWER RANKINGS-AUGUST-BY COURTNAY TURPIN

10) Jorginho - hard to argue that the Italian isn't the most important component of Maurizzio Sarri’s Chelsea side. The control and guile he gives from the deep lying player maker in Sarri’s 4-3-3 is next to none in the league.

9) Virgil Van Dijk- Since making his debut for Liverpool in February, the Dutchman has been involved in most clean sheets in the league. With Liverpool keeping three so far this season, Van Dijk clearly deserves a spot on this list.

8) Richarlison- Prior to his red card vs Bournemouth, the Brazilian was in fine form for Everton putting doubts over his capabilities and end of season form for Watford last year to bed. Only this low in our power ranking due to the silly red card he obtained. But, with one game left on his ban and his 2-goal scoring debut for Brazil over the international break, we look forward to seeing his premier league exploits for the rest of the season.

7) Callum Wilson- the English striker has been an integral part of Bournemouth’s early season form registering 2 goals and 3 assists. He has excelled at leading the line for the Cherries, one can only hope he manages to continue this early season form.

6)  Eden Hazard- the Belgian has had a hand in a goal in every game so far this season despite only starting two of the four games so far for Chelsea.

5) Benjamin Mendy- the left back has been instrumental for Manchester City in August providing 5 assists. He has been the main attacking outlet on the left side for City, allowing the likes of Raheem Sterling to operate further infield.

4) Lucas Moura- the Premier League’s August player of the month only manages to make it to number 4 on our list. The Brazilian has been an integral part of Spurs early season form despite their defeat to Watford in game week 4.

3) Sadio Mane- Mane has provided the highest goalscoring output for Liverpool so far, this season which may be surprising considering Mohammed Salah’s exploits last season.

2) Sergio Aguero- The Argentine has been in great form for the defending champions so far this season with 3 goals and 2 assists. Outside of his goals and assists output, his link up and hold up play has been crucial too Pep Guardiola’s side unbeaten record so far.

1) Marcos Alonso- Four game weeks, 1 goal, 5 assists and 2 clean sheets. This amazing output by the Chelsea left back lands him our number one spot on the power rankings.

Honorable Mentions: Mohammed Salah, Jose Holebas, Aleksandar Mitrovic, Roberto Pereyra, David Silva, Luke Shaw, Matteo Guendouzi, Ryan Fraser, Theo Walcott, Neil Etheridge.
